The Alliance of Illinois Judges has announced that its Annual Meeting and Installation of Officers will take place live and in person on Thursday, June 23, starting at 5:00 p.m., at the Chicago Bar Association, 321 S. Plymouth Ave. Incoming officers will be sworn in by Cook County Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans.
Membership in the AIJ, as the name suggests, is limited to current and former judges. But non-judges are welcome to attend the event. Tickets for lawyers and non-member judges are $50 apiece; law students will be admitted for $25.
Tickets are available at this page of the AIJ website. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative PCR test is required for entry to the event. A photograph of your vaccination card or dated test result will be accepted. Anyone purchasing a ticket agrees, by that act, to follow these safety precautions. Masks are required during the event when not eating or drinking.
The AIJ has also announced that it has a unit in this year's Chicago Pride Parade on Sunday, June 26. Bench and bar associations interested in marching with the AIJ should email mail.theaij@gmail.com for details.
