Campaign website found for Judge Tracie Porter

We are all keenly aware that the Mel Brooks Birthday Primary is only 10 days hence, but I just found this campaign website for Judge Tracie Porter -- and I've been looking. That's a link to the website in the preceding sentence; a link has also been added to this site's sidebar.

Porter was appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to the countywide Hyman vacancy last Fall, but was initially passed over by the Cook County Democratic Party at slating time. She received the sometimes-illusory consolation prize of 'first alternate' -- but, when the Callahan, Jr. vacancy opened up at the 11th hour, she had the Party's blessing already in hand.

Her campaign bio stresses her experience as a law professor. According to her campaign bio, Porter began her legal career working "in private practice and public service with the federal government." She then joined the faculty of IIT-Chicago Kent College of Law and subsequently accepted teaching positions at Southern Illinois University, St. Louis University, and Western State law schools."

Porter's campaign bio also notes that she is a "daughter of Englewood," who attended Whitney M. Young High School before going to Cornell College (where, the bio notes, "she ran indoor track, particularly the 200-meter, and the long and triple jump"). She was first licensed in Illinois in 1994, according to ARDC.
