48th Ward Democrats announce judicial choices

The Judicial Review Committee of the 48th Ward Democrats has announced endorsements in contested Cook County judicial races.

While the 48th Ward stayed with the county slate in some races, backing Judge Alfred M. Swanson, Jr., Judge Cynthia Y. Cobbs, William B. Raines and Judge Andrea Michele Buford in their respective countywide races (Arnold, McDonald, Neville and Veal), and also backing Justice John B. Simon, the slated candidate for the Steele vacancy on the Appellate Court, the 48th Ward Democrats also chose to back Justice Shelly A. Harris for the Gordon vacancy on the Appellate Court and Judge Peter J. Vilkelis for the countywide Connors vacancy on the Circuit Court. The 48th Ward Democrats chose to make no endorsement in the race to fill the countywide Reyes vacancy.
