Maureen Ward Kirby is “Qualified” for the office of Circuit Court Judge. Ms. Kirby was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 1989 and has practiced full-time for approximately 12 years. Ms. Kirby is highly regarded by her peers for her work ethic and legal ability. Ms. Kirby possesses all the requisite qualifications to serve as a Circuit Court Judge.
The Chicago Council of Lawyers says:
Maureen Ward-Kirby has been a lawyer since 1989 and was appointed to the bench by
the Illinois Supreme Court in October 2007. Judge Ward-Kirby currently sits in the First
Municipal District, presiding in the Traffic Court. Before taking the bench, she was a partner with the firm of Bell Boyd & Lloyd. She is considered to have good legal ability with an excellent demeanor. She is praised for her courtroom management skills. As a lawyer, she was involved in complex litigation matters and was considered to be a very good practitioner. The Council finds her Qualified for the Circuit Court.
