Judge Lawler is currently assigned to a pro se litigation call and serves as a floating judge when needed in other courts. Judge Lawler is well regarded for his legal knowledge, fine demeanor and temperament, and commitment to excellence. Judge Lawler is also involved in educational and charitable organizations.

Before becoming a judge, he was in private practice focusing on insurance defense work.
