Judge Pamela E. Hill-Veal interviewed by Ranoule Tatum

Cook County Circuit Court Judge Pamela E. Hill-Veal, a candidate for the Cahill vacancy on the Appellate Court, was recently interviewed by video producer Ranoule Tatum. With Mr. Tatum's permission, one of these videos is posted here.

There are a number of additional interviews of Judge Hill-Veal posted on Mr. Tatum's candidatesroundtable's channel. As any of you who click over there will note, there are other judicial candidates who have been interviewed by Mr. Tatum and I will be getting to some of these as well, either here or on page two.

Judge Hill Veal is unfair, abuses her authority, lacks intelligence and is generally unlikable. Many Bar Associations do not recommend her for the appellate court.

I am glad that I get to communicate with a number of ordinary citizen groups and ask about their impressions of Judges and that certainly applies to Judge Hill-Veal. In the past few months I have heard nothing but positive responses until I cam across this post today.

I know that everybody cannot be perfect, and has good and bad days, but I must reflect the overwhelming community support I have gotten when I inquired about people views on Judge Hill-Veal.

This woman is mean, vindictive, and incompetent. She does not belong on any bench, let alone a higher one.

In 2008 she held an attorney in contempt when she scheduled a jury lawsuit for a non-jury trial. This judge was too stupid to understand her own screw-up, and sent the lawyer to jail for trying to correct it!

When the lawyer appealed, the appellate court reversed this "judge" and furthermore, ***Presiding Justice Cahill*** said that Veal was "frivolous and mean-spirited" in the way she abused her power.

I agree with everything that's been said. She is not professional at all. Appears to be on some kind of high horse. She was more concerned with what time court will be over today more than the merits of the case. Once she jailed an attorney for doing her job she should have been removed from the bench. If she could do that to Lawyer defendants don't have a chance.

Every judge needs, at the very least, intelligence, patience, and empathy for the rights of others. She has none of those thing. She did throw an attorney in jail for trying to simply get a jury, which she had every right to get. Judge Veal did not understand this basic concept and threw the poor attorney in jail and sentenced her for 2 weeks. The Appellate Court ripped Judge Veal apart. She is incompetent and not a good person. She will rule against you if she does not like you and ignore the law. She appears not to care when she gets overturned, it's happened so often! She still gets paid her salary! Over $100k. Abusive waste of tax dollars, she is.
