The Illinois Supreme Court has appointed Jenner & Block attorney Michael F. Otto to the vacancy on the Cook County Circuit Court that will be created by the pending retirement of Judge Dennis J. Burke.According to his biography on the Jenner & Block firm website, Otto was first licensed in Missouri in 1995, becoming an Illinois attorney in 1998. Before joining Jenner, Otto served as a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Charles E. Freeman (from 1999-2007). Before that, Otto was a clerk to Appellate Court Justice Joseph Gordon.
Otto received special recognition for his pro-bono advocacy from the Family Defense Center at its September 2011 benefit. Otto also currently serves as the Chair of the Chicago Bar Association Class Litigation Committee.
Otto's appointment is effective February 15, 2012 and terminates December 1, 2014.

Very excited for him. Michael is a great lawyer and wonderful person.
We are sad to see him leave Jenner but are also very excited for him!
