Judge Clare Quish is “Qualified” for the office of Circuit Court Judge. Judge Quish was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 2000 and was appointed to the Circuit Court in June 2016. Judge Quish served as a law clerk for Justice Mary Jane Theis for 6 ½ years before entering private practice where she handled civil litigation and appeals. Judge Quish has served in the Circuit Court’s Traffic and Municipal Divisions and has efficiently presided over both bench and jury trials. Judge Quish is hardworking, diligent, and well regarded for her knowledge of the law and excellent temperament.
The Chicago Council of Lawyers says:
Clare Joyce Quish was admitted to practice in 2000. She was appointed to the bench by the Illinois Supreme Court. She was a Partner with Schuyler Roche & Crisham P.C., serving as litigation counsel in a variety of commercial and civil litigation matters in both state and federal courts. She has also had an appellate practice in both state and federal courts, including the Illinois Appellate Court, the Illinois Supreme Court, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Before taking the bench, she had been a Partner since 2009 and an Associate between 2007 and 2009. From 2000 to 2007, she was a law clerk to Justice Mary Jane Theis when she was an Appellate Court judge. She has served as an adjunct professor at Loyola University Law School, and serves on the Illinois Supreme Court’s Committee for Character and Fitness for the First Judicial District.

Ms. Quish is considered to have good legal ability and has litigation experience in more complex matters. She is well respected as a practitioner, and she is reported to have good temperament. The Council finds her Qualified for the Circuit Court.

Clare Joyce Quish has been licensed since 2000. She was appointed to the Circuit Court in June 2016, and is currently assigned to the Municipal Department, First District, Non-jury Civil section. Judge Quish is a former law clerk to Illinois Supreme Court Justice Mary Jane Theis, and did appellate and litigation work for a private firm before joining and becoming a partner at Schuyler, Roche & Crisham. She has handled complex commercial and civil litigation. Attorneys describe her as meticulous, even-tempered and to have high integrity. She has been active with bar association activities and has both lectured and written on legal topics. Judge Clare Quish is found to be Qualified for election to the Circuit Court of Cook County.

He is considered to be very knowledgeable, and is praised for his trial skills. He is reported to be a zealous advocate while being respectful to judges and opposing counsel. The Council finds him Qualified for the Circuit Court.

He has tried multiple criminal juries, including complex matters, and has substantial experience with mental health issues.
