Supporters of 9th Subcircuit candidate Judge Michael Francis Otto, a candidate for the Preston vacancy, are planning a "community grassroots gathering" for their candidate on Friday, February 21, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Evanston American Legion Hall, 1030 Central Street.
The evening is being promoted as an opportunity the community to "meet and support" the candidate. That's the "grassroots" portion of the evening. The "roots" portion of the evening will be a performance by The Lantern Kickers (pictured at left), a local group that draws "on the rich tradition of American string band music, including old-time, bluegrass and early country." Food will be provided; there will be a cash bar. No admission price is specified for this event, but persons wishing to attend are asked to RSVP. Contact Liz at electjudgeotto@gmail.com for more information or to make a reservation.
