The Mt. Prospect Journal and the Des Plaines Journal, members of the Journal & Topics Newspaper Group, ran editorials in their January 30 editions endorsing five Circuit Court candidates in the upcoming primary.
Republican Laura J. Morask received the papers' nod in the 12th Subcircuit Republican contest for the Devlin vacancy. Pamela Elizabeth Loza was endorsed on the Democratic side.
Joan Powell and Paula Lingo received endorsements for their countywide bids for the Thomas and Murphy vacancies, respectively.
John Mulroe was also endorsed for a 'full Cook County Circuit Court judgeship.' All of the judgeships to be filled in the coming primary, whether countywide or subcircuit, are in fact "full" judgeships. Mulroe is a candidate for the Morrissey vacancy in the 10th Judicial Subcircuit.
