March 8 seminar will explore what it means to be an LGBTQ judge in Illinois today

I don't often do posts about CLE programs, but I was asked to put this in. So I have....

What does it mean to be an LGBTQ judge in Illinois today? How "out" should you be as a judge on the bench or when running for election? A free March 8 program at Hinshaw's Chicago office, 222 N. LaSalle, will address these questions, share personal experiences, and make recommendations for a path of qualified LGBTQ attorneys to the bench.

The program will run from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Panelists will include Illinois Supreme Court Justice Mary Jane Theis, U.S. District Court Judge Staci Michelle Yandle (S.D. Ill.), Cook County Circuit Court Judge John Ehrlich, and Cook County Associate Judge Mary Catherine Marubio. Cook County Circuit Court Judge Cecilia Horan will serve as moderator.

A reception will follow. CLE credit is pending. For more information, or to enroll in the program, email Cynthia Vargas, Hinshaw's Diversity & Inclusion Manager, at cvargas@hinshawlaw.com. Deadline for registration is March 6.
