Supporters of Judge Anthony C. Swanagan's bid to hold his 15th Subcircuit seat have established a campaign website on his behalf. That's a link to his site in the preceding sentence; a link has also been added to the blog Sidebar.
Licensed as an attorney in Illinois since 1987, according to ARDC, Swanagan was appointed to the Zelezinski vacancy in the 15th Subcircuit by the Illinois Supreme Court.
Before his appointment, according to his campaign bio, Swanagan was a corporate attorney for Covia Partnership and its successor, Galileo International, Inc. In that capacity he "directed the entities' commercial litigation and national and international regulatory compliance, provided legal support for their human resources and employee benefits activities, and assisted in negotiation and documentation of their contracts and strategic transactions, ultimately leading to his promotion to Senior Vice President, General Counsel and member of Galileo's Board of Directors."
Swanagan also served as a law clerk for five judges of the Illinois Appellate Court and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the most recent six years in service to federal trial judges presiding over civil and criminal matters.
