She withdrew her retention bid earlier this year. It turns out there was a very good reason, and one having nothing to do with controversial decisions, or menacing watchdog groups, or any other political nonsense.
The Chicago Tribune confirms this morning that Cook County Circuit Court Judge Diane Gordon Cannon has passed away after a long battle with cancer. According to a number of sources, she had been on medical leave for some time.
