Campaign website launched, fundraiser tomorrow for Judge Jeffrey Chrones

Supporters of Jeffrey G. Chrones' bid for the 18th Subcircuit vacancy converted from the Associate Judgeship of Lauren Gottainer Edidin have launched a campaign website in support of that effort. Chrones' supporters are also planning a fundraiser for their candidate tomorrow, Tuesday, Feburary 13, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., on the 12th floor of 161 North Clark Street. Daniel O'Brien, Karen Patterson, and Michael Gallagher as the listed co-chairs of this event.

Tickets are $150 each, but sponsorship levels are available (Friend - $250, Supporter - $500, Patron - $1,000, Sponsor - $2,500, or Benefactor - $5,000). To register for this reception, click on this page of the candidate's website.

Chrones currently serves as an associate judge; he was selected in 2018 and retained in 2023. At the time of his selection, Chrones was a shareholder in Johnson & Bell, serveing as outside counsel to Pace Suburban Bus Service and otherwise focusing his practice on transportation, toxic tort, employment and product liability.

According to his campaign bio, Chrones began his legal career as a civil litigator for the Attorney General’s Office, defending and prosecuting matters on behalf of state agencies and the People of the State of Illinois. He subsequently became a Cook County Assistant State's Attorney, prosecuting countless misdemeanors and felony matters involving violent crimes, including murder, narcotics and sex offense cases. Chrones has been licensed to practice law in Illinois since 1993.

Chrones has lived in the area that is now within the new 18th Subcircuit. According to his campaign bio, Chrones and his wife, Hellena, are the parents of three adult children.
