Define "new." This vacancy was known about and set aside for Bates long before slating. Another vacancy has been set aside for the second alternate and will be announced very close to the last day possible to announce, to make it very difficult for anyone to get enough signatures other than the slated candidate.
All smoke and mirrors. How the party has gotten away with this collusion and rigging cycle after cycle is amazing.
Shame on the party and shame on the judicial candidates who willingly engage in this very undemocratic conduct.
These kinds of Nostradamus/Carnac predictions would be ever so much more valuable... and credible... if one were to provide the name of the judge whose vacancy "will be announced" very soon.
Or am I being cynical?
