The Chicago Bar Association says: Marc W. Martin is “Highly Qualified” for the office of Circuit Court Judge. Mr. Martin was admitted to practice law in 1987 and concentrates his practice in criminal law, appellate practice, and civil forfeiture. Mr. Martin has extensive trial and appellate practice experience and has authored and published several legal articles. Mr. Martin is well regarded for his knowledge of the law, legal ability, integrity, and excellent temperament.
The Chicago Council of Lawyers says: Hon. Marc William Martin was admitted to practice in 1987 and was appointed to the Circuit Court by the Illinois Supreme Court in 2014. Before going to the bench, Judge Martin was an acclaimed criminal defense attorney. He is considered to have good legal ability and his praised for his litigation skills and for his temperament. The Council finds him Qualified for the Circuit Court.
The Illinois State Bar Association says: Marc Martin was admitted to practice in 1987. He was appointed to the Circuit Court in 2014. Prior to his appointment, he was in private practice as a criminal defense attorney, mainly in federal court. As an attorney he was well-regarded in the legal community for his extensive legal knowledge and high integrity, and extensive litigation experience. Judge Martin is found to be Qualified for election to the Circuit Court.

The Chicago Bar Association says: Catherine Ann Schneider is “Not Recommended” for the office of Associate Judge. Ms. Schneider was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 1994 and is currently the Supervising Attorney for the Coordinated Advice and Referral Program for Legal Services. Prior to her current position, Ms. Schneider had varied experience in private practice and in public service law. While Ms. Schneider has an outstanding record of public service work, at this stage of her career she lacks the depth and breadth of court experience to serve as an Associate Judge.
The Chicago Council of Lawyers says: Catherine Ann Schneider was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1994. She began her career at Beverly & Pause, focusing on civil litigation of personal injury defense. In 1998, she started working for State Farm, investigating body injury claims. From 2000-2001 she oversaw the Attorney of the Day program, which produced pro bono counsel to defendants in eviction court. She then worked at Schneider & Tarr (a two person law firm) before moving on to become the Vice President of Operations at Millennium Financial in 2002. Following that, she worked at Career Services for Loyola Law for two years and then at the Law Offices of Deborah Ashen for another two. Currently, Ms. Schneider is the supervising Attorney for CARPLS.
The Illinois State Bar Association says: Catherine Ann Schneider was admitted to the bar in 1994. She is currently a senior staff attorney for Coordinated Advice & Referral Program for Legal Services (CARPLS), where she supervises staff attorneys providing free legal aid to low-income people. She also has done personal injury defense, commercial collections litigation and real estate work. She has an extensive background doing pro bono work. She has also published articles and worked as an arbitrator. She has sufficient litigation experience and is considered exceptionally smart with an excellent temperament. Ms. Schneider is found to be Qualified for election to the Circuit Court.
