Frank J. Andreou announces 12th Subcircuit election bid

Frank J. Andreou, who became an associate judge in the 2019 selection process, has announced plans to seek the Quinn vacancy in the 12th Subcircuit in the forthcoming Democratic primary.

Andreou was the Cook County Democratic Party's sixth alternate in the 2020 election cycle, but no vacancy opened up for him at that time. He was a candidate for a 12th Subcircuit vacancy in 2016. The winner of that crowded 2016 primary race was then-Associate Judge Marguerite Quinn. Quinn and Andreou became good friends, Andreou told FWIW, adding that "she spoke on my behalf during the associate judge selection process." Now Andreou hopes to succeed Quinn.

There's no campaign website yet, Andreou said, although one is in development. There is, however, a campaign Facebook page already. When the campaign website does go live, it will be added to the Sidebar on this site.

Andreou currently sits in the Motion Section of the Law Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County, overseeing motion practice and pretrial discovery in civil cases, including product liability and professional negligence, where more than $50,000 in damages is sought.

Licensed in Illinois since 1995, according to ARDC, Andreou began his career in the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, working there from 1995-1999. He joined Pretzel & Stoufer, Chtd. after leaving the CCSAO, working there a few years before setting up his own firm, Andreou & Casson, Ltd., in 2002. He was with that firm immediately prior to joining the judiciary.
