The Chicago Bar Association says:
James Edward Hanlon, Jr. is “Qualified” for the office of Circuit Court Judge. Mr. Hanlon was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 1984 and worked as an associate and partner at a large Chicago law firm concentrating in commercial litigation. In 2000, Mr. Hanlon became an equity partner at another large firm where he worked until 2007. From 2007-2009, Mr. Hanlon was engaged in the solo practice of law concentrating in commercial litigation and criminal misdemeanor matters. In 2009, Mr. Hanlon became Director of Client Services for Novus Law, LLC, where his duties included e-discovery, document review, and management analysis. Mr. Hanlon is well rounded in the practice of law and has considerable experience in complex commercial litigation matters. Mr. Hanlon has a fine temperament and possesses all the requisite qualifications to serve as a Circuit Court Judge.
The Chicago Council of Lawyers says:
James Edward Hanlon was admitted to practice in 1984. He is in private practice. He is considered to have good legal ability and temperament. He has substantial litigation experience. The Council finds him Qualified for the Circuit Court.
The Illinois State Bar Association says:
James Edward Hanlon, Jr. has been licensed since 1984. He has spent his entire career in private practice with several different firms and had his own firm from 2008 to 2010. Since 2010, he has been with Novus Law, LLC as the director of Client Services. He has extensive experience in commercial litigation at both the state and federal level. He is considered to be a highly seasoned, very professional attorney who does good work. He is active in bar association and community affairs. Mr. Hanlon is found to be Qualified for election to the Circuit Court.

Judge Allan W. Masters is “Qualified” to serve as a Circuit Court Judge. Judge Masters was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 1967 and was appointed to the bench in 2001-2005. Judge Masters has a fine demeanor and possesses the requisite legal knowledge and experience to serve as a Circuit Court Judge.
The Chicago Council of Lawyers says:
Allan W. Masters was admitted to practice law in 1968. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Masters was a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. As a lawyer, he spent more than 30 years in private practice doing domestic relations cases, as well as chancery and personal injury work. Judge Masters was appointed to the bench in October 2001 and was assigned to a call dealing with Independent Orders of Protection in 2002. He is currently in private practice. As a judge, many attorneys praised Judge Masters for his legal ability, courtroom management, dispute resolution skills, and care in dealing with the unrepresented persons who often appear before him. The Council is concerned at having received reports that too often, Judge Masters was late to court and could become short tempered. On balance, the Council finds him Qualified for the Circuit Court.
The Illinois State Bar Association says:
Allan W. Masters was admitted to practice in 1968. He served as a judge of the Circuit Court by appointment from 2001 to 2004. The majority of his career has been spent in private practice, doing mainly domestic relations cases with some chancery and personal injury work. Prior to becoming an attorney, he was a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He is considered to be a good litigator who knows the law, although concerns have been raised over his temperament. Mr. Masters is found to be Qualified for election to the Circuit Court.

Steven A. Kozicki was admitted to practice in 1985. Since 1998 he has been a sole practitioner with a general practice. From 1989 to 1998, he was a trial attorney with a small firm, and between 1986 and 1988, he served as a DuPage County Assistant Public Defender. He is considered to have good legal ability and is praised for being an experienced lawyer with good litigation skills in a variety of areas. He is reported to have a good temperament. The Council finds him Qualified for the Circuit Court.

Steven A. Kozicki was admitted to practice in 1985. Before opening his own practice in 1998, he worked as both a prosecutor and public defender in DuPage County, as well as spending three years with a firm handling civil cases. In his practice, he does mostly criminal work, with some civil and immigration as well. He has substantial jury and other litigation experience and he is considered knowledgeable with strong legal skills and a polite demeanor. He has been active in bar association activities and written on domestic violence. Mr. Kozicki is found to be Qualified for election to the Circuit Court.
