"Unmasking Justice" is the name and theme of a fundraiser to be given by supporters of the judicial campaign of Yolanda Harris Sayre on Friday, November 22, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at a "masked South Loop location."
Where exactly?
Organizers won't tell you -- until you buy a ticket.
Tickets are $75 each, but sponsorships are available ($100 - Donor, $250 - Friend, $500 - Supporter, $1,000 - Sponsor, $2,500 - Host, $5,000 - Co-Chair). Food will be provided, and "signature cocktails." Sounds will be provided by J. Imani. Tickets are available at this link.
Costumes are not required for this Masquerade Gala -- "just a sharp outfit and masks are optional," according to the organizers.

Charlie Meyerson's Chicago Public Square had this yesterday, but it's not
the first time I've been a day late... or, for that matter, a dollar short.

Cute. So spies can’t show up and observe how well (or poorly) attended the event is and do so for free. Why give money to somebody not running this cycle. Nice hustle though.
She’s an alternate. Who is she running against?
There is no hustle there.
First, she is one of the higher alternates. If a 4th late vacancy opens, however unlikely, she still has to write the party a huge check and be ready to go.
Second, if no vacancy arises for her, these funds will provide her a head start next cycle. She is not running against anyone. She has been helping the slated candidates.
Finally, If you knew her, you would know she is no hustler and has a great deal of integrity and is going to make a great judge.
