The party is dysfunctional. Everyone knows this now. No reason to seek slating. In fact it hurts you with many voters.
My campaign commercial will highlight how my slated opponent “paid the party $40,000.” Hey, it worked in 2016. “Ed Burke!” And it worked for Lightfoot in 2019. “Madigan!” “Burke” “Taxwinkle!”

After the mayoral election where Toni Taxwinkle proved the Det party is dead.. The Chairman of the Democratic party in Cook county fails to win even 1 ward and maybe 18 precincts? The party is DEAD. If they believe any judicial candidate is that stupid to pony up 40k, 20k or even 1k for the party endorsement they must be smoking the recreational cannibis that they are legalizing.

Anon 5/29 is right. This will be the year of alternative slates. All-Irish. All-PD. All-Black. JAPAC-Endorsed, etc. and with the supreme and appellate races it will be even crazier. All aboard the crazy train. The party will slate primarily women or any guy dumb enough to desperately give them, wait for it, $50k, to be slated. Remember. Toni needs the extra money to finance Kim Foxx’s re-election campaign.
