Aimen's supporters have also organized a fundraiser tonight, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Firehouse Grill, 750 Chicago Avenue in Evanston. Licensed in Illinois since 1984, according to ARDC, Aimen is a sole practitioner with an office in the Loop. According to her campaign bio, Aimen is a past president of the Illinois Attorneys for Criminal Justice (and the first woman to serve as president of that group) and a former member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She is also a former member of the Board of Governors of the Chicago Council of Lawyers. Aimen was a finalist for associate judge in the 2016 selection process.
A social worker before becoming a lawyer, according to her campaign bio, Aimen helped "Vietnam vets, victims of domestic violence, drug addicts, the wandering mentally ill, and so many others in need of assistance." She currently "reaffirms her commitment to justice by frequently representing indigent" defendants.
Aimen has lived in various parts of what is now the 9th Subcircuit most of her adult life, in Edgewater, Rogers Park, Evanston, and, now, Wilmette, according to her campaign bio. She is a member of the Wilmette League of Women Voters.

Hillison, O'Meara and Jamieson are running as a slate too. Targeting the latest vacancies. As are Ubi O'Neal and Tiesha Smith. I signed all of their petitions at the Daley Center this morning.

And Carolyn Gallagher is circulating in the Neville vacancy while Oden-Johnson is going for the Simon vacancy. But no sheets on the street yet for Ramos. All bark and no bite? I think she would be a welcome addition to the Neville race. She can beat Gallagher.
The King has survived and by a HUGE margin -- Evans wins, 143 to 102.
Lorna will now be sitting in Traffic Court. There will be several countywide vacancies this cycle, but not among the current presiding judges. MM will be retiring in late November.
MM, LP, LS, MWK, and several others will be walking out the door in December in light of today's outcome. Thanks, Chief Judge Evans. We are all better off without them.
Anon @ 7:06:00: Please. No one is “walking out the door” because they backed Propes. One of the reasons Evans won is that he doesn’t go after those who oppose him. Lorna Propes will continue to sit in Law. Tom Allen continued to serve in the Chancery Division from the time of his defeat in the race for CJ in September of 2016 until his retirement in January of 2019. Bill Maddox continued to serve as PJ of Law even though he challenged Evans for CJ. If “MM” is supposed to be Marcia Maras, then I’ve got some news for you: she can retire anytime she wants to because she has about 20 years in as a judge and therefore could collect a full Tier 1 pension, not because she feels pressured to because she backed the “wrong horse” in the race for CJ. Also, please name names instead of coyly using initials that don’t seem to correlate to any particular sitting circuit judge (who could actually vote in the CJ election).
So Evans won again? What are you wannabes smoking? There will be no forced retirements. LP, MM and all the rest are quite safe and comfortable.. Evans has not and will not take revenge on his opponents. Wake up and smell the coffee. Evans is POLITICAL' got it?
