Jerry Barrido campaign announces that it is targeting the countywide Jordan vacancy

Assistant Public Defender Jerry Barrido is circulating petitions for the countywide Jordan vacancy, according to an email received by FWIW.

Judge Clare J. Quish currently holds the Jordan vacancy pursuant to Supreme Court appointment. She was recently slated for this vacancy by the Cook County Democratic Party.

To my knowledge (always shaky, unfortunately), Barrido is the first non-slated candidate to announce the specific vacancy he is seeking.

Jack,

There is an all-Irish slate and an all-black slate. Both are targeting the democratic slate-- Quish, Horan, Hegarty, Green and Gonzalez.

I saw Jerry Barrido's petition for the Michelle D. Jordan Vacancy and on it was also Kathaleen Theresa Lanahan for the Evelyn B. Clay Vacancy and Kathryn Maloney Vahey for the Eileen Mary Brewer Vacancy.

Can subs and countywides circulate joint petitions? Hmm. Sounds like an objection challenge.

Anon - 10/2 at 7:54 a.m. - real election lawyers will correct me if I am wrong, but I believe a person may circulate and file petitions for one subcircuit and one full circuit vacancy, as long as one drops out of one race or the other by the required date.

Jack,
I don't think that is what anon meant. I think the point was that you can't have -- in the same physical petition -- candidates seeking a countywide and subcircuit. For example Jane Doe for the Clay vacancy and John Public for the Laws vacancy in 2.
