95 -- Paula M. Lingo

Candidate website

The Chicago Bar Association says:
Paula Lingo is "Qualified" for the office of Circuit Court Judge. Ms. Lingo was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 1977. Although Ms. Lingo has limited trial experience, she possesses the requisite qualifications to serve as a Circuit Court Judge.
The Chicago Council of Lawyers says:
Paula Lingo was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1977. For the last 13 years, she has served as Chief Legal Counsel to the Cook County Recorder of Deeds. For the 8 years immediately prior, she maintained a solo practice, concentrating in real estate matters and Social Security disability claims. Before that she held in-house positions with Independence Bank and International Harvester, and briefly served in the Consumer Fraud Division of the Attorney General’s office. In her 30 years of practice, Ms. Lingo has had virtually no courtroom experience, and her litigation experience is limited to employee grievance arbitrations and Social Security administrative hearings much earlier in her career. By all accounts, she is competent in her current position and is well-liked and respected by lawyers who have encountered her in her administrative role. But a lawyer who aspires to the bench should not be a stranger to the courts. For this reason, the Council finds her Not Qualified.
