The Progressive Alliance PAC has endorsed one judicial candidate for the upcoming primary, Gregory Emmett Ahern, Jr. Ahern is a candidate for the Delgado vacancy in the 6th Subcircuit.
Progressive Alliance PAC bills itself as "a registered political action committee in the state of Illinois formed to further progressive values and candidates in Cook County."
Meanwhile, the Illinois Civil Justice League has begun releasing its judicial endorsements.
Noting that it has endorsed both Justices Mary Jane Theis and Joy Virginia Cunningham in prior elections, the ICJL said it would not choose between them for the Supreme Court.
The ICJL stated, "We wrestled with this decision and while we did not 'coin' this line – the Chicago Tribune did – 'voters cannot go wrong with either Theis or Cunningham.'"
But the ICJL did endorse Don R. Sampen in the race for the O'Brien vacancy on the Appellate Court. More ICJL endorsements are promised for Wednesday.
The ICJL bills itself as "a coalition of Illinois citizens, small and large businesses, associations, professional societies, not-for-profit organizations and local governments that have joined together to work for fairness in the Illinois civil justice system."
