Judge Marilyn Johnson is "Qualified" for the office of Circuit Court Judge. Judge Johnson was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 1980 and became a judge in 2006. Judge Johnson is assigned to the Juvenile Court and has distinguished herself in handling a difficult call. Judge Johnson is well respected by her peers and by the lawyers who appear before her for her knowledge of the law and fine judicial temperament.

Qualified (evaluated to fill a 2005 judicial vacancy. She has been appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to fill a judicial vacancy.)

Marilyn F. Johnson was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 1980. She is currently the Chief of Staff for the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority. From 1996 to 2003 she served as General Counsel and then First Assistant General Counsel for the Chicago Board of Education. She has also served as General Counsel to the Chicago Housing Authority, and from 1985 to 1994 she was Chief Assistant Corporation Counsel and Deputy Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago. She served as an attorney with the Legal Assistance Foundation for more than 5 years at the beginning of her career. Ms. Johnson is well-respected for having good legal ability, an excellent temperament, and has had experience dealing with complex legal issues. The Council believes she has the potential to be a very good judge and finds her Qualified.
