Duignan's campaign bio notes that she is a managing partner of the firm of Latherow & Duignan, and has represented "victims of medical negligence, construction negligence, sexual abuse, and wrongful death, for over 15 years." Duignan's campaign bio also stresses her bar association involvement: She is on track to become President of the Illinois State Bar Association in 2025 (currently Second-Vice President) and has been appointed as Chair of the ISBA's Political Action Committee. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Bar Foundation and on the Board of Managers for the Illinois Trial Lawyers, according to her campaign bio.
Duignan served as Chair of the St. Barnabas School Board (2021), and currently serves as Legal Advisor to the Farmworkers Landscapers Advocacy Project (FLAP) and on the Board for Catherine’s Caring Cause, according to her campaign bio. She was a 2020 recipient of the Top Women Lawyers in Leadership Award, according to her campaign bio.
