Anne Shaw, John Garrido to seek subcircuit vacancies

Anne Shaw, the owner of Shaw Legal Services, Ltd., and a licensed attorney in Illinois since 1995, is planning a run for a 6th Subcircuit vacancy, according to a Facebook announcement. A campaign website is under construction. When completed, I will add it to the list of candidate websites in the Blog sidebar.

Shaw will start her judicial campaign off with decent name recognition; she was a candidate for State Representative in 2018.

Also starting off his judicial race with good name recognition is Chicago Police Lt. John Garrido. A Facebook announcement confirms that Garrido is planning to seek nomination to the McGing vacancy in the 10th Subcircuit. No campaign website is yet set up.

Licensed as an attorney in Illinois since 2006, according to ARDC, Garrido practices law with the firm of Garrido & Stoppa, P.C., on Chicago's far Northwest Side. Northwest Side voters may remember Garrido from his close-run bids for 45th Ward Alderman.

  1. Shaw has major name recognition in the 6th Subcircuit and serious help with her campaign. Just as important, there is a visible crack in the veneer that is the "slate" of Dickler and O'Connor. Neither are pulling their weight getting signatures. Slates only work when you work as a team. And running for judge is not a team sport. Every rat for itself. Oh well. Dickler can always move into her mom's house and run for a late-breaking in mom's subcircuit when she suddenly decides to retire.

  2. ANNE SHAW ALSO RAN FOR COMMITTEEMAN IN THE FIRST WARD.

GARRIDO'S NAME ID IS THROUGH THE ROOF WHICH IS RARE FOR JUDICIAL CANDIDATES.

You said that comment moderation is in effect. Yet you allow these slights to be aimed at The Honorable Justice Grace Dickler and her daughter? Shame.
