Statement by Chief Judge Timothy Evans:An extra day of campaigning for judicial candidates. But, if you're going door to door today, bring your snowblower.
"Due to the winter storm warning that predicts 10-14 inches of snowfall in the Chicagoland area between Thursday February 8, 2018, 6 p.m. and Friday, February 9, 2018, 9 p.m., and to ensure that no one is placed in a position of danger in getting to court, the Circuit Court of Cook County will be closed Friday, February 9, 2018.
"This means - with the exception of Central Bond Court at the Leighton Criminal Court Building in Chicago and juvenile detention hearings at the Juvenile Center in Chicago - that there will be no court in session in any Cook County courthouse and that the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court will be closed. All cases set for Friday, February 9, 2018, will be rescheduled.
"On Monday, court is closed in observance of the state holiday of Lincoln's Birthday. Central Bond Court and juvenile detention hearings will be held as scheduled through the weekend and Monday."
