Advocates Society announces one endorsement and several recommendations in Cook County judicial races

Even some judicial candidates get confused about this, so don't be upset if you are, too: The Chicago Bar Association does not endorse candidates for election. Neither does any of the 11 members of the Alliance of Bar Associations for Judicial Screening. When the CBA or an Alliance member says a candidate is "qualified" or "recommended," that group is not suggesting that you vote for that candidate. Indeed, the CBA or an Alliance bar group may find every candidate in a particular judicial race qualified or recommended.

However, the Advocates Society, an association of Polish-American attorneys, is not a member of the Alliance. It can, and sometimes does, encourage its members to prefer this candidate over that one. In this election cycle, the Advocates have "recommended" multiple candidates and "endorsed" one.

Jonathan Clark Green, a candidate for the countywide Clay vacancy, and the 2018-19 Secretary of the organization, is "endorsed" by the Advocates.

The following candidates have been "recommended" by the Advocates:

Countywide Vacancies
Oren Whiting - Brewer vacancy
Preston Jones, Jr. - Flanagan vacancy
Cecilia A. Horan - Hartigan vacancy
Clare Joyce Quish - Jordan vacancy
Peter Michael Gonzalez - McGinnis vacancy
