Cook County names 13 new Associate Judges

The Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts has announced the names of the 13 newly elected Cook County Associate Judges. These are:
  • Sophia Jane Atcherson,
  • George Louis Canellis, Jr.,
  • Vincenzo Chimera,
  • Jean Margaret Cocozza,
  • Geraldine Ann D’Souza,
  • Mohammed Mujahid Ghouse,
  • Patrick Joseph Heneghan,
  • Robert Wade Johnson,
  • James Lewis Kaplan,
  • Marc William Martin,
  • Mary Catherine Marubio,
  • Edward Nicolas Robles, and
  • Marita Clare Sullivan.
Three of the new judges won't need to buy robes: Jean Margaret Cocozza, James Lewis Kaplan, and Marc William Martin are all currently serving as Circuit Court judges pursuant to Supreme Court appointment. Judge Kaplan, like Judge Peter Vilkelis in the last round of associate judge selection, was elected as a write-in candidate; he was not on the "short list."

Martin and Patrick Joseph Heneghan were both unsuccessful candidates for election to the Circuit Court in the March primary; neither Judge Cocozza nor Judge Kaplan ran this year.

Geraldine Ann D'Souza and Edward Nicholas Robles were both finalists in the 2014 associate judge selection process.

  1. My grandson bought me an Apple Pad for Mother's Day and since he taught me how to dial in to the Google, I've been trying to find out whatever happened to old celebrities and friends. Jack Lalanne did calesthetics on television many years ago following the Virinia Graham Show. He was a great sex symbol of the day and I would dream of him at night. I looked him up on the Google and found he's now writing this judicial drivel and from the photo, it does not look like Mr. Lalanne or his one piece jumper aged very well. Mr. Lalanne was one of the first men to openly admit to wearing M Yak Cosmetics (darn auto correct) Mary Kay Cosmetics to look good on tv. Now presidential candidates are wearing bronzer and cheap wigs and no one says a thing. So much has changed, especially fitness guru Jack Lalanne.

  2. My dear "Ms. Vitas" -- I hate to break the news to you, but Mr. LaLanne passed in 2011, at the age of 95. He looked better than me then... and probably still does! Keep on doin' the Google.
