The Cook County Democratic Party will be meeting at 9:00 a.m. this morning -- moments from now, actually -- in the 7th floor conference room of the 134 N. LaSalle St. building to determine whether to make an endorsement in the Cook County State’s Attorney race for the March Primary.
Last week, the executive committee of the Cook County Democratic Party called for a full meeting of the Central Committee to reconsider slating a candidate for Cook County State’s Attorney. The Committee is made up of the 50 Chicago Ward and 30 Township Committeemen.
The Democratic Party Central Committee previously voted to stay neutral in the State's Attorney's race -- keeping incumbent Anita Alverez at arm's length.
Party leaders may no longer consider neutrality a viable option; it seems reasonable to suppose that this morning's meeting was called because Kim Foxx, former Chief of Staff to Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, now has achieved sufficient support among party leaders to claim the endorsement.
We will know soon enough.
Storky Lorky disliked Cheetah Anita, so she made up a story that the sky was falling to fan the flames of fear and bigotry. Storky Lorky knew Cheetah Anita did nothing wrong, but she made up the story and told everyone she knew that the sky was falling so that her good friend Foxxy Loxxy could take over the patronage den occupied by Cheetah Anita. Brucey Goosey saw this as an opportunity to pressure his friend the Unfair Mare into backing his political reforms, so Brucey Goosey and Storky Lorky ganged up on Cheetah Anita and the Unfair Mare, and told everyone they knew the story that the sky was falling.
ReplyDeleteAll the animals in the forest gathered on a cold winter day to hear Storky Lorky's tale about how the sky would fall if Cheetah Anita was not replaced by Foxxy Loxxy, and since t.v. cameras were present, the animals made sure not to look like they were taking the moment seriously.
All the animals knew that Storky Lorky was grandstanding, but since all but two of them had been neutered when they were elected into the forest, a vote was taken and Cheetah Anita was banished from the woods. Foxxy Loxxy was then crowned queen of the forest. Storky Lorky stood before the t.v. cameras and said it was a great day for all the brown and black bears in the woods while all of the emasculated animals in the kingdom stood behind her shaking their heads in unison.
Cheetah Anita walked out of the woods with Turkey Burkey, and vowed to fight for her den, but everyone knew it was too late. She'd soon be working at Mayer Brown for five times her current salary with the likeable Fair Mare, whose nephew she protected for many years.
As Storky Lorky and Foxxy Loxxy beamed with glee, M. Yak the Hack told all of her fledglings to run from Cheetah Anita as fast as they could for spring was soon coming, and their fate would soon be determined.
I never tire of the ole M. Yak reference; it makes me laugh each time.
ReplyDeleteI'd really like to see a "Hansel and Gretel" follow-up piece by this writer starring Yak.
I had an epiphany. Storky Lorky in the woods could easily be mistaken for Bigfoot. Especially during the daylight. This explains everything.
