Kaplan has narrow lead over Hanlon in the 12th Subcircuit

The race for the Jordan vacancy in the 12th Subcircuit became a little more high-profile than the usual judicial contest when it was singled out by WGN-TV and the Medill Watchdog group for their "Judging the Judges" series.

Tonight's results so far show Judge James L. Kaplan with just less than a 300 vote lead over James Edward Hanlon, Jr.  There are still 38 precincts yet to report.
