Mark Brown of the Sun-Times weighs in on judicial sltaing

Columnist Mark Brown of the Chicago Sun-Times was also at the judicial slating meetings this past week. Here's his take on the process.

I'll respond to a couple of Mr. Brown's points just as soon as opportunity presents.

  1. That guy O'Brien is arrogant

  2. Brown's story is a theatrical review of a farce... look in the dictionary. A farce is a foolish show; mockery; a ridiculous sham. How can a committeeman with intelligence and integrity participate ?

  3. I know O'Brien and he is not arrogant. He is a very good attorney with a nice personality. His wife is a judge who ran against the party and won. Why should an attorney who can be a better judge than any one of the political hacks that got slated sit out an election? The people of Cook County need the best judges not political hacks. There is a slated female attorney with a political name and family who has never tried a case !!!! What an ego of her to think she should be a judge. That is arrogant !!! O'Brien is honest.

  4. To the person who said Brendan O'Brien is arrogant, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but since this is a public forum maybe you can state your reason(s) for saying that. As someone who's known Brendan for years, and believes his to be anything but arrogant, I'm curious why you would say this.

  5. Brendan O'Brien is a great attorney and has the experience it takes to be a judge. He is not by any means arrogant.
