Questionnaire responses for 41st Ward aldermanic candidates

Following up on a post I'd done at the end of December (updated a couple of times since) providing links to 41st Ward aldermanic candidates' web sites, Facebook pages, and so forth, I thought I'd search for candidate questionnaire responses.

Herewith, in ballot order, are the results of my search.

If I've missed anything, it is due solely to my lack of skills as an Internet sleuth and not on account of any intended slight. I will be pleased to update this post to add sites I may have missed. Feel free to send me an email or leave me a comment.

  1. The Tribune held 41st Ward interviews today, 01/24/2011. Six candidates were present.
They were(in alphabetical order): Gavin, Gonzales, Mullen, Murphey and O'Connor.
Not present: Ateca, Banna, Lapinski, Merck and Schamne.
Come on 41st Ward voters start narrowing the field to those who you know care enough to follow through. Then perform your own 'due diligence' on that narrower field. If done properly you will eliminate all of the candidates who have any 'special interest' group connections. Its time for new blood. The old line organizations' days are over. Don't, for a minute, believe just because somebody is labeled 'Independent' they are. Look behind the label and in some cases you'll find Democrat connections, physical help and even (God forbid)money. Same goes for the Republicans and their anointed one. If you do the above requisite investigating, attend candidate forums, ask pertinent questions of the candidates you'll truly be an informed voter. We need youth. We need someone who is articulate. We need someone with a day to day working grasp of the issues who can speak to our concerns here in the 41st Ward. Remember eleven will run but only one can win.
