Andrea M. Schleifer has been appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to fill the 12th Subcircuit vacancy created by the recent resignation of Judge Mary K. Rochford. (Rochford, like her former Chancery Division colleague, Judge James R. Epstein, will not be retired long. Rochford is unopposed for the South vacancy on the First District of the Appellate Court and will assume those duties in December.)Schleifer's appointment is effective November 16, 2010 and terminates December 3, 2012.
Schleifer is currently the principal of Andrea M. Schleifer & Associates, P.C. A 1979 graduate of the Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, Schleifer is a Past President of the Decalogue Society of Lawyers and a former member of the Board of Governors of the Illinois State Bar Association. Schleifer has also been a volunteer for Chicago Volunteer Legal Services for over 25 years, serving on its board of directors between 2003 and 2009.
