Appointed and slated all in the same week

A week ago, John P. Callahan, Jr. was an associate with the Oak Brook firm of Sullivan Hincks & Conway. Then, on Monday, September 8, the Illinois Supreme Court appointed Callahan to the countywide Kelley vacancy. (Judge Daniel J. Pierce, who had been assigned to that vacancy by the Supreme Court in 2008, was reassigned to the "A" vacancy in the 14th Subcircuit on September 1, 2009.)

By the end of the week, the newly-appointed judge was endorsed for a countywide judicial post by the Cook County Democratic Party.

It must have been a whirlwind week indeed for John P. Callahan, Jr.
