Shannon O...Chicago Council should get it right. Shannon O'Malley, candidate in the 13th Subcircuit, is a "he", not a "she". Perhaps an understandable mistake as O'Malley declined to be evaluated by any bar association, and the name sounds feminine. But his bid made the news as it was reported that he specifically changed his name from Spiwak to "Shannon O'Malley" in order to capitalize on the perceived advantage of an Irish name and a female name on a suburban ballot.
